Kate Delhanty studied at the Slade School under Professor William Coldstream and then went on to teach art at Cheltenham Ladies College.

She has exhibited at the RWA where she has been a member since 1978 and with the Cheltenham and Fosseway Groups of Artists.

She acknowledges an interest in the work of Cezanne, which she acquired whilst studying at Reading School of Fine Art, and cites the Euston Road School as influential during her time at the Slade.
