Commenting on certain influences which inform her work she imparts:
1
'Over the years I have become increasingly interested in using a montage of images and in some of my work have employed this element 'borrowed' from graphic design. In this particular area I have been influenced by old posters for feature films, by pop artists and by Robert Rauschenberg amongst others. I also like pictures which seem to have a 'story' behind them- which appear mysterious or ironic. The cinema has proved to be an influence with shots of people running, or someone lying on the ground or a face in big close-up. This feeling of mystery in a picture is expressed very well in the work of Carel Weight, whose work I much admire.'
