![]() James Beale studied in Gloucestershire and at Chelsea School of Art between 1968 and 1973. He went on to be a Fellow in Painting at Cheltenham. Until 2006 he was a senior lecturer and head of the Printmaking Department at the University of Gloucestershire. He took early retirement in 2006 to concentrate on his own work. He is a Fellow of the Royal Society of Painter/Printmakers and was elected as an RWA Academician in 2005. He has served on the Selection and Hanging Committee and is currently a member of the Council.
![]() He exhibits regularly in the U.K, Europe, Japan and the U.S.A. His work is in public and private collections in the U.K and abroad.
