after the Second World War he painted landscape in a romantic manner….he
writes that during the 1970's….. |

| 'I
introduced collage into my painting until it eventually became my main method
of working. I paint and make marks in a variety of media, on paper, cloth
and card and find unexpected starting points for the construction and exploration
of visual experience and mood. I like to explore the tension between architectural
and organic forms and play with colour and shape. I find that the medium
provides both a discipline and a sense of freedom.' |
