Crimes of Passion : Street Art in Bristol
22 March - 4 may 2009

Due to its unprecedented popularity the Royal West of England Academy has decided to increase the opening hours of Crimes of Passion: Street Art in Bristol and extend the run of the show.

With visitors queuing to see the show, the exhibition, which has seen record-breaking crowds, will be open this Easter Sunday from midday until 5pm (last admissions 4.30pm). In addition to this, the exhibition will be extended to include being open for the May bank holiday, originally the show was scheduled to be de-rigged and whitewashed on the weekend of the 3rd and 4th May – but because of its popularity new measures have been taken to ensure it can be seen by maximum audiences.

In a new departure for the RWA and in addition to its already publicised free day on April 11th, there will be opportunities to visit the show ‘out of hours’. The RWA doors will be open for two evenings free of charge from 6pm – 9pm on Friday 17th April and Friday 1st May, on these occasions a bar will be available and the balcony will be open for visitors use.

Fiona Davies Marketing and Education Manager at the RWA said:
We are really excited by the public’s reaction to Crimes of Passion and we’ve responded by giving more
opportunities for people to see the show. We hope that the late night openings and free admission will,
bring new visitors to the exhibition, which is being recognised locally and nationally as a milestone event
The show which has already attracted nearly 10,000 visitors nationwide will run until the 4th May, over 50 Bristol based street artists who were given free reign on the gallery walls of the Grade II* listed building are exhibiting.

Artists included in the exhibition are:
Nick Walker, Filthy Luker, FLX, Sickboy, Cyclops, Rowdy, Inkie, Mr. Jago, Acerone, Dicy, Feek, Ponk, Seza, Xenz, Ziml, Eco, Paris, Mudwig, What Collective, Cheo Soker, Will Barras and Andy Council.
