HEAD OF FINANCE & ADMINISTRATION
The RWA seeks a Head of Finance & Administration to work closely with the Director and Board, joining a small, highly dedicated team to provide a sustainable controlled platform for delivery of all its activities including Exhibitions, Drawing School, Education and Workshops, as well as being a wonderful Gallery space for hire for events. This is a particularly exciting time for the organisation as we are also planning a major capital project.
The Head of Finance & Administration position is a wide ranging and multi-faceted role, and will cover management of the RWA’s financial and administrative functions, including HR. The role is to support the Director to deliver the RWA’s ‘mission statement’, ensuring that the back office/infrastructure, commercial processes and grant funded activities of the charity are managed in a timely and disciplined fashion. You will be a member of the RWA’s Senior Management Team, with responsibility for delivering financial clarity in all areas of the RWA’s operations, supported by an Assistance Finance Manager (p/t). The role also covers handling HR, payroll, supporting grant applications, managing insurance and property issues. However, your prime responsibility is for the financial probity, performance and control of the organisation – monthly, quarterly and annual accounting cycles, bank liaison, cash and cost management, as well as strategic planning and tactical/operational budgeting.
Ideally, you are a graduate and qualified accountant or equivalent, bringing an interest in working within an arts/museums/charitable sector organisation. You will be a self-starter and used to working with a Board and multiple Stakeholders. In return you have the opportunity to be part of a passionate and dedicated team within a unique organisation in the South West/Bristol region. The role is flexible and part time, c2-3 days a week with a generous holiday entitlement. Salary c.£45,000 pro rata.
