Stay at Home Series: Mark Stopforth

We asked our artists to share what they are working on and how they're are keeping busy during this unprecedented time. Here, Artist Network member Mark Stopforth answers our questions:

  • What are you currently working on?

I’m currently working on continuing with my paintings depicting the more stormy and wilder aspects of British landscapes. I’m also going back to my more minimalist seascapes depicting light and shade on the horizon.

  • Tips to stay active, creative and busy during this period

Given the situation I do believe strongly in staying fit and active, so going regularly for a run is a great way to start the day. Sticking to a routine is also essential, knowing that there is a time and a place for painting, gardening or just going for a walk is very important...more so for my own sanity.

  • What are you most looking forward to?

Personally I’m looking forward to being able to see my family and going for a pint with my partner.

  • Has being at home made you appreciate some things more than usual? What are these things?

We’ve definitely appreciated nature more and listening to bird song or seeing wildlife around us, it helps having a little bit of sunshine!
