Blue Jug
The painting, ‘Blue Jug’, was made in 2004 and painted in oils on canvas board. It is one of many works on this theme.

In 1988 we built a house on the edge of woodland stretching along the River Avon from Bristol to Bath. The house looks towards the lofty trees of the woodland so it seemed natural to plant a garden between the house and this backdrop. Planting sculptural trees and plants of various shapes and colours has given us a truly romantic garden, which is now a festival of colour. It gives me endless pleasure and inspiration. I strive to keep my work fresh and vibrant with energy to capture the spirit of the garden.
