He has taught at many schools at both secondary and adult education levels, and has also been the recipient of three awards. These include the Anglo American and de Beers Joint Chairmans' Award to support True Fresco in the apse of St Joseph's Chapek Tsolo, South Africa 1982, a grant to work on four altars in St Augustine's Church, Penalonga, Zimbabwe from 1985 to 1989. He also completed work on a three metre triptych in the UK at the Lord Mayor's Chapel, Bristol in 1992. His work has been exhibited in several shows such as the Royal Academy Summer Exhibitions and at the New English Art Club, the Paris Salon, the National Gallery of Wales and Bradford City Art Gallery. He contributed to the Somerset Art Week by holding an Open Studio Exhibiting during the 1990's. His work is included in the collections of the Plymouth City Art Gallery and the RWA. His work depicted widely varying aspects of religious, landscape and portrait subjects in oil, watercolour, egg tempera and true fresco. Malcolm Ferguson passed away on Saturday, 14th April 2007. back |
