La Prunelle de mes Yeux
Threaded throughout her career PJ Crook has made a series of paintings of her children like a journal of their progress from infancy to young adults. Often combining these observations with memories of her own early years and stories that her parents recalled of their more distant pasts.

Situated in the imaginary country that we leave behind in our childhood, where magic and reality meet; this painting is based  on her two children Henrietta and Nathan, here poised on the brink of adolescence but reluctant to vacate that place which PJ as an artist still tries to inhabit. Both of P J Crook's children were born in Weston super Mare where she lived for eleven years.
