Mrs Margaret Fisher Prout
Vincent Lines was born in 1909 in Dulwich, London. He studied at the Central School of Arts and Crafts and then later at the Royal College of Art. He was primarily known as a landscape and architectural painter, though occasional portraits and still lives figure in his ouvre.

Lines moved to the West Country in the mid 1930's after a time primarily engaged in architectural studies in Tunbridge Wells, when a deeper interest in the rural landscape began to inform his thinking - he began to paint the countryside of Wiltshire and Gloucestershire, including several noted studies of Tintern Abbey, as well as a series of portriats of the Artistic friends he made. His works are held in several public collections in the region.

Vincent Lines died in 1968.
